Even though the chilly winds of February are blowing, take heart, 4-H summer camp plans are in full swing.  Henry, Shelby and Oldham Counties will be attending Lake Cumberland 4-H Camp from June 7–10.  The theme for the camp is “Superheroes in Training.”  Campers can look forward to classes that include: swimming, canoeing, fishing, archery, riflery, high ropes, low ropes, cave exploration, crafts, a kickball tournament, and much, much more.

The Henry County Cattleman’s Association will meet at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28, at the Henry County Extension Office. Looks like another great program has been planned by the Board of Directors. Leading off with a sponsored beef supper, the program will feature the ever popular veterinarian’s report, the FSA/NRCS update, a Phase I progress report, and a quick Extension report. Program sponsors will give a brief update on products and services available.

The 4-H state camping program is in need of summer camp employees at all camping locations. If you are looking for a summer job that gives you the opportunity to be a positive and encouraging influence in many children’s lives, consider working at a 4-H camp.
