Here is some information from our UK Health Specialist that may encourage you to donate. The American Red Cross, the largest blood collection organization in the United States works across the nation to collect blood to help others in need. Every year about 9.2 million people donate blood. It is estimated that about 20 percent of those volunteers are donating for the first time.
The Smith-Lever Act of 1914 provided for the Cooperative Extension Service across the United States. While some counties developed their County Extension Service earlier, Henry County’s first County Extension Agent was hired in 1925.
A referendum on whether Kentucky cattle producers may be assessed $1 per head on cattle marketed in Kentucky is scheduled for Nov. 20, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association have announced.
