    Church Activities

    Sligo Baptist Church, North 42 Loop in Pendleton, will host Handshakes and Pancakes on April 18 beginning at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast of coffee, juice, milk, eggs, cheesy grits, pancakes, bacon and sausage will be served free until 10:30 a.m.

  • Gregory Farms is a participating roadside market

    Gregory Farms of Turners Station is one of the 95 certified farm markets across the Commonwealth recently accepted into the 2015 Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) Certified Roadside Farm Market Program, according to a Farm Bureau news release.
     In joining the KFB Certified Roadside Farm Market Program, Gregory Farms has committed to offering quality products and service to its customers.
    Its acceptance by Farm Bureau tells customers that Gregory Farms meets the highest standards of quality, freshness and marketing appeal.

    The Eminence Council of Churches will host a number of Holy Week Services beginning with Maundy Thursday hosted at the Eminence Christian Church at 7 p.m. with Rev. Charles Duncan preaching.

  • Correction

     

    An article on Charles Simpson’s involvement in mapping the moon for the Apollo 11 mission in the Feb. 11 edition, used an incorrect nickname for Simpson. He was known as Sonny, not Jimmy. Also, a historic detail was incorrect — Astronaut Michael Collins remained in orbit while his colleagues touched down on the moon. The Henry County Local regrets the errors.
