  • The 1956 graduate class of Pleasureville High School held their 60th reunion Saturday, June 18, at Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville. Present were, front row, from left: Billie Quisenberry Morgan, Aline Raisor Baugh and Ruby Fink Willhite; and back row: Margie Hoskins Wade, Wanda and Marlyn Browning, Gerald Spear, Kathleen Roberts, Jimmy Hall, Vaden Hardin, Alva Robinson and Paul McKee.

  • Darrell and Linda Aldridge of Bagdad, owners of All the Way Shoppe catering, were married on June 30, 1966.
    They are the parents of Tony Aldridge (Meghan) of Bagdad, Keith Aldridge (Sheila) of Melbourne, Fla., Brian Aldridge (Sara) of Simpsonville; grandparents of Dara Barker (Josh) of Piedmont, S.C., Abbey Aldridge, Cooper Aldridge, Ethan Aldridge, Ellen Aldridge, Autumn Aldridge, Arron Aldridge, Alex Aldridge; great-grandparents of Tristan Rowlette and Jackson Barker.

  • Campbellsburg Mayor Rex Morgan named Rev. Carl and Joann Rucker as Campbellsburg Day’s grand marshals for the community celebration June 18. To further recognize them, Morgan also presented the Ruckers with this plaque, saying he wanted to honor them for their   many years of contributions and service to the city and surrounding community.

  • James Beverly and Candice Brown recently announced their engagement and plans to be married in Crestwood this fall.
    James Beverly is the son of Wesley Sr. and Karen Beverly of Port Royal, a 12-year member of the Campbellsburg Volunteer Fire and Rescue and a graduate of Henry County High School.
    Candice Brown is the daughter of Gregory Sr. and Carolynn Brown of La Grange. She is an Army Reserve veteran and is studying for a bachelors degree in business management. She graduated from Oldham County High School.

  • Lloyd and Pat Creech Gray of Smithfield will celebrate their 50-year anniversary April 23, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m. with family and friends at the Smithfield Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
    The couple was married April 22, 1966, at David’s Fork Baptist Church in Lexington.
    Lloyd has farmed in Jericho for 47 years, as well as serving as an active church and community leader, and Pat retired from food service at Henry County Public Schools after 20 years.

    This year’s vacation Bible school theme at Eminence First Baptist Church at 5706 S. Main Street, Eminence, is “Submerged: Finding Truth Below the Surface,” based on Psalm 139: 23-24. The schedule is each night June 13 through 17 at 6 p.m.

    Civic Organizations
    Eminence Rotary Club meets at noon at Henry Christian Church every Monday.
    The New Castle Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday of each month at Buddy’s Place in New Castle.
