    Mr. and Mrs. Randy S. Tingle of Campbellsburg celebrated 50 years of marriage on June 15, 2012. Randy and Sherian were married at Sulphur Baptist Church in 1962. They have three children: Tina (David) Smith, Tracy (Hershel) Pennington and Troy (Danyel) Tingle. They also have eight grandchildren.

  • Valentine-Banta engagement

    Melissa Mills, Louisville and Albert and Tess Valentine, Smithfield would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Chrissy Valentine to Jeremy Banta, son of Cecil and Phyllis Banta, Pleasureville.
    The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Henry County High School and a recent graduate of Sullivan University. She is employed by Henry County Public Schools.
    The groom is a 2006 graduate of Henry County High School and attended University of Louisville and JCC. He is employed with Kentucky State Police in Frankfort.

  • 1812: Dunn buys 100 acres for $200

    200 Years Ago

    James B. Richards was released by the court from his indenture to James Hobbs.   Richards was to learn the hatter’s trade while apprenticed to Hobbs.

    On June 1, 1812, Thomas Moore posted a bond of 50 pounds in order to secure a marriage license to wed Lucy Underwood, daughter of James Underwood.  The marriage was officiated by Henry Brinton, Minister of the Gospel, on June 4, 1812.

    Sherry Hamilton, Smithfield, and Chester Hamilton, Smithfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie Renee Hamilton of Huntsville, Ala., to Aaron Richard Hignite of Huntsville, Ala., son of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Hignite, Versailles.
    The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of Louisville and received her master’s degree at Bellarmine University.
    The groom is a graduate of MTSU, Murfreesboro, Tenn., and is employed as a mechanical engineer by the US government in Huntsville.

  • KENTON ELIJAH RYAN CLARK

    Jacob and Tayten Clark announce the birth of their brother, Kenton Elijah Ryan Clark born March 27, 2012 at Norton Suburban Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long.
    Parents are Jeremiah Clark and Heather Cameron.
    Grandparents are Vickie Cameron of Eminence; Wendell Cameron, LaGrange; Kristy Clark, Eminence; and Craig Clark, Shelbyville.
    Great-grandparents are Sara and Jerry Donohue, Louisvile; and Tom and Allen Ferguson, Eminence; and Wallace Clark, Shelbyville.

    William H. Mason Jr., of Eminence celebrated his 95th birthday on Saturday, May 19, 2012. He celebrated with his family.
