    James B. Richards was released by the court from his indenture to James Hobbs.   Richards was to learn the hatter’s trade while apprenticed to Hobbs.

    On June 1, 1812, Thomas Moore posted a bond of 50 pounds in order to secure a marriage license to wed Lucy Underwood, daughter of James Underwood.  The marriage was officiated by Henry Brinton, Minister of the Gospel, on June 4, 1812.

  • Sherry Hamilton, Smithfield, and Chester Hamilton, Smithfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Jamie Renee Hamilton of Huntsville, Ala., to Aaron Richard Hignite of Huntsville, Ala., son of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Hignite, Versailles.
    The bride-elect is a graduate of the University of Louisville and received her master’s degree at Bellarmine University.
    The groom is a graduate of MTSU, Murfreesboro, Tenn., and is employed as a mechanical engineer by the US government in Huntsville.

  • Lawrence Bond and Kristy Clark would like to announce their engagement. The ceremony will be held at Pleasureville Baptist Church at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall located across the street from the church.

  • Mr. and Mrs. Steve Wood, Eminence announce the engagement of their son, Joshua S. Wood to Stephanie J. Pankow, daughter of William and Gloria Pankow, Ashland.
    The bride-elect is a graduate of Centre College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. She is also a graduate of University of Kentucky with a master’s degree in Health Administration. She is employed at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

  • Jacob and Tayten Clark announce the birth of their brother, Kenton Elijah Ryan Clark born March 27, 2012 at Norton Suburban Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long.
    Parents are Jeremiah Clark and Heather Cameron.
    Grandparents are Vickie Cameron of Eminence; Wendell Cameron, LaGrange; Kristy Clark, Eminence; and Craig Clark, Shelbyville.
    Great-grandparents are Sara and Jerry Donohue, Louisvile; and Tom and Allen Ferguson, Eminence; and Wallace Clark, Shelbyville.

  • William H. Mason Jr., of Eminence celebrated his 95th birthday on Saturday, May 19, 2012. He celebrated with his family.

    Mr. Mason has delivered meals to senior citizens for over 50 years.

  • Kaylee Tingle, 11, competed in the KYQHA show in Casey County, winning multiple 1st and 2nd place awards. She was the top points winner in the Small Fry division, and was crowned the KYQHA Princess for 2012. She is the daughter of Michael and Kristi Tingle of New Castle; and the granddaughter of Evelyn and the late Tommy Stivers, James Tingle, and Keith and Linda Baker.

  • Donald Phillips of Shelbyville and Missy Browning of Pleasureville announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage. The wedding will take place at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Apple Patch Chapel in Crestwood.  A reception will follow at the home of  Zeb and Amegan Zaring.

    The bride-elect is the daughter of Mike and Aline Mounce, Cincinnati, Ohio and the late DL Browning Jr . She has two children, Amegan Zaring and Timothy Hardin.

  • Felicia Riley and Willie Humphrey, both of Carrollton announce the birth of their daughter, Lillian Kathyrn Humphrey born Monday, April 2, 2012 at Baptist Hospital Northeast. She weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    She has one sibling, Gregory William Humphrey.

    Grandparents are Mike Humphrey and Dorothy Perry, both of Carrollton; and Ronnie and Mattie Copeland, Ind.

    Great-grandparents are Jim and Jo Sanders, Carrollton; Diana Montgomery, Ind.; William and Mary Humphrey and Silva and Joseph Sullivan.
