    Church Activities   and Services

    The church sanctuary at Eminence Christian Church, 5333 S. Main Street in Eminence is open each Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m. for quiet prayer and reflection. All are welcome to come and go as time allows.

  • When we were children, my sister Carolyn and I played church. She led the singing and I preached.
    During the preaching, she would be the congregation.
    At the end of most sermons, she “got saved.” What a successful preacher I was!
    I always wanted to become a spiritual giant — to really be somebody in the world of spirituality.
    Instead, I was born with clay feet. There is much I’ve wanted to do that I have not accomplished.
    There was much I was going to be that I have not become.

  • Ethan Daniel Bruther

    Chris and Leslie Bruther, Campbellsburg, would like to announce the birth of their son, Ethan Daniel Bruther, born Saturday, March 27, 2015, at Baptist Hospital East. He weighed 7 pounds 13.8 ounces and was 20.25 inches long. He has one brother, Will and one sister, Briana.
    Grandparents are David and Linda Young, Turners Station, Tom and Joy James, Bethlehem, and Danny Bruther, Eminence.

    Point Pleasant Christian Church will host Vacation Bible School July 6-10, beginning at 6 p.m. each night, for ages 3 to completed seventh grade.Visit Hometown Nazareth, where Jesus was a kid and explore what it was like to live in the town where Jesus grew up. Each evening begins with a light supper.

  • Roy and Judith Jackson

    Roy and Judith Jackson of Campbellsburg will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 26, 2015.
    They were married at Bethel Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio and now attend New Castle First Baptist Church in New Castle.
    The couple has farmed for more than 50 years and raise Angus and Sim/Angus cattle on Reality Farms LLC with their son.

    Eminence Christian Church (DOC) will be having its Vacation Bible School on June 23-25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. for children ages 3 - 12 years old. It will be exploring stories from the Old Testament about food. Come join us for food, fellowship, and Bible study! To register your child email their youth minister, Stephanie, at eminenceccyouth@gmail.com or stop by the church office.

  • Pvt. Dylan Wathen, formerly of Henry County, graduated from United States Marine boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina, on Friday May 29, 2015. He is currently stationed at Camp Geiger, North Carolina, in Marine Combat Training. His mother is Martha Smith from New Castle.

    Debbie Thomas, Pleasureville, would like to announce the engagement of her daughter, Jennifer Thomas to Todd Payton, son of Maurice Payton, New Castle and the late Minnie Payton.
    Jennifer is receiving her Bachelor Degree in criminal justice from IWU and is employed with KHESLC.
    Todd works for Luther Luckett correctional facility.
    The wedding will take place Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Shelby Hills Farm.

    First Baptist Church Eminence will have its annual Vacation Bible School Parade on June 13. All are invited. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. If you want to participate please come to help decorate at 9:30 a.m.
