    This year’s vacation Bible school theme at Eminence First Baptist Church at 5706 S. Main Street, Eminence, is “Submerged: Finding Truth Below the Surface,” based on Psalm 139: 23-24. The schedule is each night June 13 through 17 at 6 p.m.

    Eminence Rotary Club meets at noon at Henry Christian Church every Monday.
    The New Castle Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday of each month at Buddy’s Place in New Castle.

    Pleasant View Baptist Church will celebrate Women’s Day on Sunday, May 29, at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Robbi Boone, associate pastor at New Horizon Worship Center, Louisville. The focus of the Women’s Day program will be to honor senior citizens.  Lunch will be served immediately after the morning service.

  • James Beverly and Candice Brown recently announced their engagement and plans to be married in Crestwood this fall.
    James Beverly is the son of Wesley Sr. and Karen Beverly of Port Royal, a 12-year member of the Campbellsburg Volunteer Fire and Rescue and a graduate of Henry County High School.
    Candice Brown is the daughter of Gregory Sr. and Carolynn Brown of La Grange. She is an Army Reserve veteran and is studying for a bachelors degree in business management. She graduated from Oldham County High School.

    “This Hope,” a gospel a cappella group, will be in concert on Sunday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m. at Henry Christian Church. A love offering will be received.
