  • Town and Country Homemaker Club shows well at State Cultural Arts Competition.  Melissa Beatty received a blue and champion in pen and ink with roughing. Yvonne Clark received a blue for her pen and ink,  a blue on her beaded jewelry, a blue on her original design jewelry, and a blue on her decorative painting. And Ruth Earl Harrod received a blue on her knitting and a blue and champion on her beaded scarf.

    After being appointed guardian of Mitchell Young, infant heir of Robert Young, deceased, on May 3, 1813, John Woodfill and his sureties, Andrew Woodfill and Henry Banta, posted a $300 bond.  By posting the bond John Woodfill stated that he would faithfully discharge his duties as guardian of young Mitchell.

  • If you take the average American and ask them if they take prescription medications almost half will answer yes. 

    This shouldn’t come as a surprise given the fact that the media is flooded with pharmaceutical commercials on television, in magazines, and online.  Take a look in your medicine cabinet, kitchen cabinet, even the bottom of your purse – odds are you will find some type of pill.  Centers for Disease Control data published in 2010 highlighted increasing trends of prescription use in the United States.

  • Chris and Kelly Satterly of Drennon Springs announce the birth of their son, Chakotay Vernon Satterly, born Monday, March 25, 2013, at Norton Suburban Hospital. He weighed 9 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 21 inches long.

    Grandparents are Tim and Melinda Sharp, and Vernon and Carolyn Sharp, all of Drennon Springs.

  • Quentin Ray Suter announces the birth of his brother, Waylon Van Suter, born March 12, 2013 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. He  weighed 7 pounds 8 ½ ounces and was 20 ½ inches long.

    Parents are Jeremy and Kassie Suter of Port Royal.

    Grandparents are Wendell and Kathy Hawkins of Port Royal, Mike and Bonnie Suter, Westport; Wayne and Donna Beckley, Pleasureville.

    Great-grandparents are Charlie Frazier, Carrollton; Garnett and Esther Suter, Lexington; and Bobby and Sue Kelley, Smithfield.
     

  • Greg and Sonya Kelley  of Eminence announce the marriage of their daughter, Tiffany Lynn Kelley to Matthew Alan Ridge, son of Dale and Susan Ridge, Louisville. The couple was united in marriage at 3 p.m. March 16, 2013, at Grace Baptist Church of La Grange by Pastor Dave Woosley.

    The couple had a winter wonderland wedding with red roses and trees of snow that surrounded the church. The bride wore a long white dress and veil with a diamond tiara. The groom wore an all white tuxedo with a red tie.

  • Amanda Lauren Rene Seaton and Michael Keith Watts were united in marriage at 3 p.m. March 23, 2012 in the chapel at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.

    The bride is the daughter of Carl and Sharon Seaton, Hillsboro, Ore.  She is the granddaughter  of Dorothy Ashley, Owensboro and Barbara Riley Cisney, Louisburg. Her Godmother is Mona Santiago, Las Vegas, Nev.
