  • Nathan Garriott and Chelsea Galloway of Campbellsburg announce the birth of their daughter, Nola Rae Garriott born Aug. 23, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East She weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and was 20 ½ inches long.
    Grandparents are Robert Galloway and Kim Dawson, Larry Garriott and Kathy Hentges.
    Great-grandparents are Janice Wonders and Joe and Betsy Peters.

  • Kristan and Daniel Wright, Eminence would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Josephine Danielle Wright, born August 22, 2012 at Baptist Hospital Northeast.
    She weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce and was 19 inches long.
    Grandparents are Judith and Chris Shaw, Pleasureville and Gerald Wright, Pendleton.
    Great-grandparents are Minnie Eddins and the late Roy Eddins; JoAnn Singleton and the late Jullian Shaw; Brandley Wright and the late Geraldine Wright.
     

  • Madalyn Marie Atchison announces the birth of her sister, Emily Grace Atchison, born Aug. 6, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 20 inches long.
    Parents are Kyle and Amanda Atchison.
    Grandparents are Sheila Atchison, New Castle; Raymond Atchison, Eminence; Bobby Rankin, Defoe; Sandy Jones and Roy Lockridge, Bagdad.
     

  • Bradley Foree and Cynthia Abbott announce the birth of their daughter, Kylee Jade Foree, born Aug. 1, 2012, at Baptist Hospital Northeast. She weighed  5 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 20.5 inches long.
    Grandparents are Rodney and Kim Abbott, Emma Foree and the late Sherman Allen.

  • Charlie and Valerie Grigsby of Campbellsburg announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Kellie Grigsby to James D. Puckett III, son of James and Lezlie Puckett, Milton.
    The wedding will take place on Sept. 28, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at Covenant United Methodist Church in La Grange. Invitations will be sent.

  • Gayle and Jane Mann will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on August 25. They were united in marriage on August 25, 1962 in Milltown, Indiana.

    The couple moved to Henry County in 1966 when i-71 was being built. Gayle was a construction worker. He retired from the Henry County Road Department.  He also served 30+ years  on New Castle Fire Department and as an EMT on volunteer ambulance service. He operated the Welding Shop with partner Roger Golden before going to work for the county.

  • Greg and Sonya Kelley of Eminence announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Tiffany Lynn Kelley to Matthew Alan Ridge, son of Dale and Susan Ridge, Louisville.

    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Francis Le. Kelley of Eminence and the late G.W. Kelley. She is a high school graduate from the A Beka Home School Academy. She has studied with the Red Cross where she completed her nursing assistant and CPR certifications through Kentucky Community and Technical College System.

  • Second Wind Dreams Project-Sewing for Seniors:  Edith Tennill, a member of the Second Wind Dreams Committee organized a sewing workday at the New Castle United Methodist Church this past Saturday to make a special fabric bib for residents at Homestead Nursing Center.  There were volunteers from the Smithfield Christian Church, the New Castle Baptist Church, the Simpsonville United Methodist Church, the Pleasureville United Methodist Church and of course the New Castle United Methodist Church working on the project from 10:00 until 2:00 and they completed about 60 bibs.
