Henry County Judge-Executive John Logan Brent recently signed a proclamation declaring May 3 as a day of prayer for all citizens of Henry County, as organizers and participants in the local observance for the National Day of Prayer, including Mona and Mike Huff and Jerry and Clara Anderson, watch. The organizers have invited all members to the local May 3 observance to be held at Henry Christian Church, located at 136 Castle Highway. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a meal, and participants will have prayer time at 7 p.m. Jessica Berry and Jennifer Montgomery will lead the children in prayer, and various pastors from Henry County will lead the adults. Organizer Mona Huff invited folks to come out and pray with the group. “I know there will be some that cannot attend,” she said. “However, we can pray for unity for America and our great county wherever we may be. We are going to celebrate the unity that we have seen in our county and pray for even more as part of this service. I look forward to the greatest prayer time that we have ever experienced as our eyes are opened to what God has in store for us as we unite for Christ.” Huff added the county proclamation will be on display there.
