Three Henry County High School 2022 graduates received their Kentucky FFA Degrees this summer at the Kentucky State FFA Convention held last month.
Jaxon Scriber, Avery Stivers and Alena Jordan all received the third-highest degree offered to FFA members. To qualify students must:
• Complete the Greenhand and Chapter Degrees
• Maintain FFA membership
• Complete at least 2 years of agriculture education
• Perform at least 10 parliamentary procedure abilities
• Give a speech on an ag-related topic
• Serve as an officer or committee member
• Earn and invest at least $1,500 in an Entrepreneurship SAE or work at least 300 hours in a Placement SAE
• Attend at least three activities at the chapter level, and two at the state or national level
• Complete at least 25 hours of community service.
Jaxon Scriber was Chapter President and Regional Reporter. For his SAE he worked for local farmers and the Henry County Parks Department and showed swine.
Avery Stivers was Vice President of Leadership Development. His SAE was woodworking.
Alena Jordan was Vice President of Chapter Development, and her SAEs included working at Cracker Barrel and Hometown, and making and selling dog treats.
The state degree conferred upon the graduates is the second-highest FFA degree awarded. The American Degree is the highest.
