  • Billy Ray Pettit

    Billy Ray Pettit, age 59 of Wellington, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012. He was the former owner of  Pettit Sanitation.
    He is survived by his domestic partner, Judy McKenna; his mother, Kathleen Pettit; sisters: Jennie Snook, Kitty Ann Sears (Richard) and Janie Clark; brothers: Walter Pettit Jr. (Darlene) and Dallas Pettit (Kathy); step-daughters: Donna and Betty; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

  • Mary Ann Smith Sanford

    Mary Ann Smith Sanford, age 55 of Smithfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012. She lived in the Henry County community her entire life and worked for Henry County School system as a bus monitor for 21 years. She also worked the door at Six-Mile Jamboree where she spent time with her many friends. Mary Ann was very active in the community where she was loved by many. She is remembered by her family and friends for her loving and nurturing nature and her willingness to put the needs of others before her own.  She was the daughter of the late Gladys (Bramblett) Smith and Fred Smith.

  • Barbara Ann Spears

    Barbara Ann Spears, age 65 of Shelbyville, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 at her home. She had worked at Colonial Hall Manor in Shelbyville.
    She is survived by her husband, Jesse Spears, Shelbyville; daughters: Tina Spears (William Wentworth), New Castle, and Jessica Spears, Bedford; two grandsons: Zackery and Cayden Wentworth, New Castle; sister, Mary Harbaugh, Corydon, Ind.; and two nephews.
    Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment was in Grove Hill Cemetery.

  • Naomi Wilson

    Naomi Wilson, age 73 of Columbus, Ind., a native of Eminence, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital. She was owner of N and J Janitorial for the past 25 years.  She was the matriarch of her family, active in the community, loved helping others, an excellent cook, host and was known for her exciting style shows. She was a former owner of her restaurant in Kentucky and a member of Second Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Will and Coare Kiphart Moore.

  • Billie Ray Pettit

    Billie Ray Pettit, age 59 of Wellington, died on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.
    He is survived by his mother, Kathleen Pettit; and two step-daughters: Donna and Betty.
    Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral Home. Interment was in Sulphur Cemetery. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time on Tuesday.
     

  • William Long

    William S. Long, age 76 of Kingsland, Texas, formerly of New Castle, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at his residence.
    He is survived by one son and two daughters, all of Austin, Texas and one sister, Phyllis Long Bond, Shelbyville.
    Puttnam Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
     

  • Charlotte Raisor

    Charlotte M. Raisor, age 71 of Campbellsville, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Defoe, and was the daughter of the late John Raymond and Ethel Faye Woods Raisor. She was a machine operator for Phillip Morris USA for 27 years, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of Union Baptist Church.
    She is survived by her extended family from Campbellsville; one brother, one sister, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Raisor.

  • Vonnie Stader

    Vonnie Ray (Carter) Stader, age 52, of Eminence, Indiana, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Carroll Carter and Earlean (Woods) Carter.
    She is survived by her husband, Anthony J. “Tony” Stader, Eminence, Indiana; one daughter, Cara Dean Stader, Eminence, Indiana; one son, Adam Wyatt Stader, Eminence, Indiana.
    Cremation services were chosen. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Pleasureville Community Building, Saturday, Oct. 13, beginning at 5 p.m. for family and 6 p.m. for other visitors.

  • Helen Wood

    Helen Marie Wood, age 80 of Louisville, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at her residence. She was a native of Henry County and member of Port Royal Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Elza and Gracie Frances (Welch) Roberts Sr.

  • Ronald Gordon Sr.

    Ronald Gordon Sr., age 74 of Eminence, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at his residence.  Son of the late William and Anna (Holup) Gordon, he retired as a supervisor for Leggett and Platt. Ronald was a proud veteran of the United States Army, was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel and a member of Eminence Baptist Church.
