  • Joyce Elaine Williams


    Joyce Elaine Williams, 67, died Friday, May 25, 2012, after a long and valiant fight against cancer.  
    Williams was born Feb. 16, 1945, in Louisville and later moved to Campbellsville.  She was a graduate of Campbellsville High School and Campbellsville University.
    She was an avid equestrian enthusiast showing, breeding and training horses and dogs. She also loved cooking, gardening, homemaking, farming, riding, camping and entertaining. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, companion, neighbor and friend.

  • Louis Yates

    Louis Yates, 62
    Louis Walter Yates, age 62 of Cartersville, Georgia., died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in Cartersville.  Louis was a native of Louisville, a 1967 graduate of St. Xavier High School. He graduated and received a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Louisville.  He was an employee of Fairbanks Company in Rome, Ga. He was also a member of St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Church in Cartersville. Louie was preceded in death by his father Noel N. Yates and mother Mary F. Yates both of Louisville.

  • Archie Denton Jr., 44

    Archie Virgil Denton Jr., 44, died May 25, 2012, in Louisville. 
    He is survived by two sons, James Denton and Jonathan Denton both of Shelbyville; and one daughter, Jordon Heightchew of Shelbyville.  
    Funeral services were 3 p.m. Monday at Shannon Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.

  • Gary Grubbs, 58

    Gary Grubbs, 58, died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at his home.
    He is survived by nine children, Nora Grubbs Carlin, Josiah Grubbs, Hannah Grubbs, Micah Grubbs, Leah Grubbs, Caleb Grubbs and Jesse Grubbs, all of Fort Worth, Texas, Jacob Grubbs of Long Beach, Calif., and Jedidiah Grubbs of Austin, Texas, and his mother, Betty Jean Chisholm Grubbs of Alamo, Texas.
    Funeral services were  10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Kornbleet Memorial Chapel, Ahavath Sholom Cemetery

  • Franklin McIntosh, 68

    Franklin Delano McIntosh, 68, of Shelbyville died Friday, May 25, 2012, at the Jewish Hospital in Shelbyville. He was the son of the late Lora Monroe and Nelson McIntosh.

    He is survived by son, Franklin Douglas McIntosh, Defoe and one daughter, Lora Ann Luna, Shelbyville.

    Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27, at Shannon Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Temple Jr., officiating. Burial was in Defoe Cemetery.

  • Cecil Clark

    Cecil Clark, age 82 of Eminence, died Monday, May 21, 2012.  He was the son of the late Charles and Mamie (Downey) Clark.

    He is survived by one daughter, Wanda Sue Perkins; Worthville and four sons, Cecil Wayne Clark, Port Royal, Danny Clark and Charles David Clark both of Eminence, and Tony Clark, Pleasureville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edenah Penn Clark.

  • Deana Couch

    Deana L. Dixon Couch, age 49 of Pleasureville, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville following an illness. She was the daughter of the late Anna Louise McDonald Dixon and Noah Lee Dixon Jr.

    She is survived by her husband, Carl R. Couch, Pleasureville; one son, Joshua Clayton Couch Sr., Pleasureville; two daughters: Melissa Couch-Wayne, Shelbyville; and Shawna Couch-Montes, Taylorsville.

  • Danny Hardin

    Danny Hardin, age 52 of Lawrenceburg, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at his home.  A native of Louisville, he attended Henry County High School and was a former employee of Quebecor.

    He is survived by his mother, Mary Ree Milburn Mahoney, Eminence; one daughter, Nicole McGinnis (Jerry), Harrodsburg; two sisters Debra Kidwell, Pleasureville and Paula Baugh, Harrodsburg; and one brother, Gary Hardin, Ala.
    No public services are planned.
     

  • Judy Martin

    Judy L. Martin, age 64 of Louisville, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at her home. She was an accounts payable specialist for Central State Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Buford Lee and Elaine Taylor Martin.

    She is survived by her siblings: twin sister, Martha J. Martin, Betty Lee Spradling (Phil), Tommy Martin (Lavon), Linda McCane (Russell); best friend and love of her life, Ned Taber; nieces and nephews; Eunice Metcalf, Michael Heilman, Sam Martin, Martin Wilson and Donna Singleton. She was preceded in death by one niece, Sandy Walling.

  • James Henry Morrow Jr.

    James Henry Morrow Jr., age 71 of Scottsboro, Ala., died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Highlands Medical Center.

    He is survived by his wife, Lydia S. Morrow; one son, Timothy Clay Morrow; five daughters: Cheryl Lavonee Pascoe, Cheryl Ann Lary, Mary Brewer, April Suelyn Walton and Christine Ann Morrow; two brothers: Nathaniel Morrow and Jay Morrow; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by son, James Bradley Morrow.
