  • County jobless rate drops below 8% for second month this year

    Unemployment rates fell in 99 Kentucky counties between October 2010 and October 2011, while 20 county rates increased and one county remained the same, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.  
    Woodford County recorded the lowest jobless rate in the Commonwealth at 6.4 percent.

  • Henry jobless rate drops below 9%

    Henry County was one of 96 counties in the state to experience a drop in unemployment rates from June 2010 to June 2011, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training.

    Henry’s unemployment rate dropped almost a full percentage point, from 9.3 in June 2010 to 8.3 in June 2011.

    Regionally, Trimble County experienced the most improvment, going from 13.7 percent in June 2010 to an 10.6 percent this year. Conversely, Spencer County recorded the lowest decline — changing just 0.1 points again.

    Regionally, Trimble County experienced the most improvment, going from 13.3 percent in May 2010 to an even 10 percent this year. Conversely, Spencer County recorded the lowest decline — changing 0.1 points.
