  • Recorder Concert

    Before the March Henry County School Board meeting hosted by Campbellsburg Elementary School, third through fifth grade students performed a recorder concert for their parents, board members and guests. Afterward, all were invited to view a display of student art work. The trio of Sawyer Mayse, Nathen Corum and Jacob Davidson teamed up for one song. Holly Hosey performed a recorder version of “Old McDonald had a Farm.” Aaliyah Wilson also performed for guests last Monday evening.

  • Silvers paints with Eastern students

    Henry County artist Sharon Silvers recently taught a painting lesson to fifth grade students at Eastern Elementary School. The topic this year was Vincent van Gogh. Ms. Moore’s class painted van Gogh’s church at Auvers while Ms. Eddin’s class painted a landscape in the style of van Gogh.

    HCPS Kindergarten registration

    Henry County Public School kindergarten registrations will be held at each elementary school from April 13 through 17 during the school day.  

    On April 16, the schools will extend the registration time to 6 p.m.  For more information, please contact your child’s intended school or the Henry County Board of Education.

  • Eminence Student Technology Leadership Program team advances to state

    Eminence has a record number of students advancing to the State Student Technology Leadership Program this year, according to a news release from Eminence Independent Schools.
    “I am so proud of our students, they produce amazing work everyday. It is nice to have a venue like STLP to showcase their work,” Sherry Curtsinger, middle and high school STLP coach, said.
    Eminence Middle School will be sending two showcases, “Shake It Off” and “Game On.”

    Kentucky State University’s Whitney Young School of Honors and Liberal Studies hosted the 2015 Kentucky Honors Roundtable on Feb. 27 and Feb. 28, involving one student from Henry County, Ashley Craigmyle.

    Order the Henry County High School yearbook now
    Henry County High School yearbooks are on sale now, according to staff. This year’s yearbook theme is “Red, White and You!” The cost is $65. The yearbooks are on sale through the end of March. Including all spring sports, prom and graduation, the yearbooks are expected to come out in September.
    University of Louisville announces fall grads from Henry County
    These Henry County residents recently graduated from the University of Louisville after the fall 2014 semester.
