University of the Cumberlands  is pleased to announce that Chelsey Tingle of New Castle received the Master of Arts degree in Education with an emphasis in Instructional Leadership in the August graduating class.
This Fall, Cumberlands recognized 261 students as receiving their bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and doctoral degrees. Classes are currently in full swing at UC for the fall semester.

Denise Perry, Director of Student Services for Henry County Public Schools, received the Kentucky Director of Pupil Personnel of the Year Award at the KDPP Fall Institute on Sept. 13.  This prestigious award is presented annually to recognize one outstanding educational leader who serves in the role of Director of Pupil Personnel.

Wayne Morley and Bo Kasten won bikes for their participation in the 40/20 Mile Club. Eastern Elementary resumed the 40/20 Mile Club, a walking club for all Eastern Elementary Students. This involves the students walking one mile behind the school on their free time. In order to qualify, Kindergarten through 2nd grade walk 20 miles, while higher grades walk 40, between now and May. Last year there were more than 90 students walking/ running toward the goal.   At the end of the year we will draw two names for a bike.
