  • Student of the week: New Castle Elementary School Melvin Gonzalez

    Melvin is in the 4th grade at New Castle Elementary School.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Math because I am good at subtraction, addition and some division. It’s fun because you get to play games with math.

    If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?

    California so I could meet famous people. There is a person who lives in California named Tobuscus who designs Minecraft gaming stuff.

    Do you have any pets?

    I have a Chihuahua named Junior.

    Leah is a 5th grader at Campbellsburg Elementary.

     

    What is your favorite subject?

    Math. Multiplication because you have to remember your multiplication times (table).

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    I want to be a veterinarian technician. I love animals and I hate how people treat them badly.

    Do you have any pets?

    A cat, Guinea pig and dog. Cat: Gracie, Guineau pig: Patches, Dog: Buddy.

    What kind of music do you like?

    The song Gangham style.

  • Student of the week for Feb. 20: Eastern Elementary School Michael Logsdon

    Michael is a 3rd grader at Eastern Elementary.
    What is your favorite subject?
    Math. I like division. I like writing some.
    What would you like to do when you grow up?
    I would like to be a farmer when I grow up. You don’t have to pay so much money to get food. I like being outside and going outside in the woods.

    Do you have any pets?
    One cat. Don’t have a name.

    What kind of music do you like?
    I don’t really have a favorite.

  • HCMS Academic team finishes season

    The Henry County Middle School ended their season on February 6th with Regional Governor’s Cup Competition at Immaculate Heart Mary School in Burlington with the quick recall team placing 4th and HCMS receiving the Hume Sportsmanship award.  The Wildcats finished their league in 2nd place with a 5-1 record, and then went on to district competition where they had seven students advance to regionals.

  • Eminence High School Samantha Thompson

    Samantha is a junior at Eminence.

     

    What is your favorite subject?

    I really like my communications course at Bellarmine. With my pageantries, I need experience in public speaking. It will help give me confidence and I will need that when I have to talk to a jury when I need to plead my case.

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    Lawyer. Criminal justice lawyer. It has always intrigued me since I was a child. I don’t know why.

    Courtney is a junior at HCHS.
    What is your favorite subject?
    Web Design. I like designing web pages we get to experiment a lot with editing pictures. Use my imagination.
    I like that we have more freedom there, Mr. Mitchell just tells us what the website will be used for.
    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    Samantha Gibson of Pleasureville was recently named to the Dean’s List at Morehead State University and recognized for high academic achievement.

    Samantha is the daughter of Jerry and Carolyn Gibson of Pleasureville.
