  • Local students of the week: Eminence Middle School Carson Bean

    Carson is a 5th grader at Eminence Middle School.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Math. I guess because I’m good at multiplication. I do like science too. My favorite topic is the water cycle. I like the water cycle. It is weird to see how water travels. It’s like it is constantly moving, evaporation and all of that.

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    A teacher. I think I would be good because I do sometimes play school with my younger brother and sister at home and I think I would be good at it.

    Emily is an 8th grader at Henry County Middle School.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Math. I am good at it and it interests me. I like to solve equations and problem solve.

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    I want to be a pediatric surgeon. I like to work with kids and I also want to be able to do surgeries.

    Do you have any pets?

    One dog her name is Sophie.

    What kind of music do you like?

    Country.

  • Celebrating 100 days of school

    Mrs. Gibson’s 1st grade class at Eminence Elementary School celebrated 100 days of school by counting balloons, and then popping them.

    Jadah is a 3rd grader at Eminence Elementary.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Math because we get to do math facts on the computer.  We answer division, multiplication  mostly those two.

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    A lawyer because you make good money.

    Do you have any pets?

    Five. Two birds, two fish and a cat.

    Birds: Zack and Jack , Fish: Mr. Blue and Alleycat. Cat: Bella.

    What kind of music do you like?

    Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

  • Rotary Club donates dictionaries

    Eminence Rotary Club members recently handed out a dictionary to every Henry County third grader at Eastern, New Castle, Campbellsburg  and Eminence Elementary Schools. This is part of The Eminence Club’s Literacy Program and has become an annual project. Pictured are members and students at the schools.

    What better way to learn about college than from a student who has been there and experienced it?

    With many recent Henry County High School graduates home for Christmas break, the elementary schools took advantage of the opportunity and asked these college students to speak to elementary classes about their college experience.

  • Student of the Week for Jan. 23:Campbellsburg Elementary School Harlie Webster

    Harlie is in the 5th grade at Campbellsburg.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Social Studies. I like seeing how life was back then. I like learning about how farmers worked then and the Indians. I am part Native American.  We just finished the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, the real story was he had to go and warn other Sons of Liberty.

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

  • Student of the Week for Jan. 23: Eastern Elementary School Isaac Logsdon

    Isaac is a 5th grader at Eastern.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Math. I like working with numbers. It’s cool to see all the patterns work out. How to multiply certain things. The math tricks: you can multiply straight across on fractions.

     

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    Law enforcement like a wildlife agent. A game warden. I like hunting and I’m experienced with guns.

  • Student of the Week for Jan. 16 : Eminence High School Andrew Lentini

    Andrew is a sophomore at Eminence High School.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Math. I like problem solving in Geometry where you have to find things like circumferences and such.

    What do you do for fun?

    Hang out with my friends and go to the mall. Go roller skating.

    Do you have any pets?

    4 cats: Jacob, Misty, Ginger and Boots.

    If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?

    I would go to Italy. I would like to visit the rest of my family that lives there in Sicily.

  • Students of the Week for Jan. 16: Henry County High School Colleen Coomes

    Colleen is a junior at Henry County High School.

    What is your favorite subject?

    I like English and peer tutoring. I like studying different time periods. Mrs. Johnson does a good job when she teaches it. I like tutoring because I like getting to know kids and teachers and helping them.

    What do you do for fun?

    I play basketball, hang out with my friends and family. We go bowling or have a movie night.

    Do you have any pets?

    Two horses: Sugar and Tanner, Dogs: Ice Man, Sassy, Bentley and Max.
