    Chandler is a HCHS senior from Bethlehem.
    What is your favorite subject?
    Ag class. You learn and cover so many different courses every thing from animal science to green houses.
    What do you plan to do after high school?
    I would like to study criminal justice and become a state trooper. You would do something different everyday and exciting and help the community in the process.

    Eminence Elementary School Students of the Month for November: Nova Schack, Gavin Matthews, Alekzander Lentini, Zackery Newton, Aurora Estes, Megan Sweeney, Justin Blevins, Taylor Lyon, Maya Dalton, Avery Stivers, Tayten Clark, Isabella Coffee, Alexis Roby and Andrew Rodgers. Not pictured: Conner Hasfurder, Kiaya Sacra, Tyler Virgin, Grant Lyon, Scarlet Flores, Ray Matthews, Sabrina Moore and Jakob Powell.

  • YOCO visits GEMS

    Several Youth Coalition young ladies visited with the Girls Empowered and Motivated to Succeed (GEMS) group at Campbellsburg Elementary School during Red Ribbon Week. YoCo members led the girls in a fun craft activity that helped them identify their goals for life, then explained how being involved with drugs, alcohol and tobacco would interfere with reaching those goals.   • Children learn through play at Early Childhood Center

    Learning begins very early in life, and at the Henry County Early Childhood Center, children have the opportunity to learn in a variety of fun and effective ways suitable to their age.

    The Early Childhood Center, in its second year of operation, is located next to New Castle Elementary.  Director of Instruction and ECC Principal Alysia Wedding reports that 122 3- and 4-year-olds are served through two Head Start and five Preschool classrooms.

    Adriana is a 7th grader at Eminence Middle School.

    Favorite subject?

    Science, because you can try different kinds of experiments and you can see how different things work.

    Do you have pets?

    Yes, a dog. Cookie is a chihuahua

    What do you do for fun?

    I like to play with my nephew, he’s two. You get to see how he learns, the way he thinks.

  • Henry County Middle School Leslie Whaley

    Leslie is an 8th grader at HCMS.
    What is your favorite subject?
    Social Studies. I love how Ms. Treece teaches. She teaches it differently than anyone else. She teaches in a way for everyone at any level to learn. I love learning about the presidential candidates and how it will affect the budget if Romney gets elected. I also love learning about what people did in the past.

    Kurtland is a 5th grader at Campbellsburg Elementary School.

    Favorite subject?

    Science and social studies. I like science just because of the curiosity of it, the cause and effect and that you can do experiments. I like chemistry and robotics.

    Do you have pets?

    2 cats: one black cat named Shadow and an orange cat named Rex. We don’t know what breed they are.

    1 dog: his name is Diesel and he is  a pure white boxer

    Tiffany is an 4th grader at Eminence Elementary School

    Favorite subject?

    I like a lot of things. I love math, social studies and reading. Mrs. Ashby helps a lot. I also love karate and horse riding.

    Do you have pets?

    3 dogs, 7 to 9 cats, goats, sheep and horses.

    Dogs: Bella, Jazzy and Buckles.

    Cats: Bobtail ,Bear, Mittens, Black cat a.k.a. junkyard cat because that’s where we found them, and  Calico.

    Horses: Fancy and Silky.
