New Castle Elementary School celebrated World Milk Day and the cutest cows determined by 198 Facebook likes were sisters, Carami and Alanah Marrillia. Mrs. Marrillia, a fourth grade teacher and the cutest cow’s aunt, also dressed up for this special occasion to honor cows.
The New Castle Elementary School Running Club recently held its first race. According to Jenna Ashby, the running club coach, the race winners included Kennedy Brown in the girls’ mile, Dallon Fitzgerald, first in the boys’ mile and Jonah White, second in the boys’ mile.
Mrs. Tipton’s fifth grade class won “The Golden Clipboard for Best Attendance.”
Mrs. Marrillia’s fourth grade class won three awards- “The Golden Morraccos for Spanish,” “Golden Fish for Guidance” and “The Golden Ball for PE.”
Ms. Stivers’ fourth grade class won “The Golden Paintbrush” for Arts/Humanities.”
Mrs. Bruther’s fifth grade class won “The Golden Book for Library.”
According to their website, the vision of the Kentucky Board of Education is to “ensure that all students reach proficiency and graduate from high school ready for college and careers.” Preparing students for their future after graduation is not only a priority, but a passion at Henry County High School.

Miss Pigglesworth, aka Miss Piggy, visited New Castle Elementary School Friday for Pet Club. Sara Wilkerson displayed her multi-tasking abilities by feeding the visting pot-bellied pig with one hand while raising her other hand to offer an answer to a question.
Campbellsburg Elementary School has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) ENERGY STAR certification, which signifies that the building performs in the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide for energy efficiency and meets strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA. With this most recent designation, all of Henry County’s school buildings are now ENERGY STAR certified.
