Hannah E. Roberts, recipient of the Kelly Jewell Memorial Scholarship and BES Scholarship, was named to Western Kentucky University’s Dean’s List for both the 2014 fall and 2015 spring semesters.
To make the Dean’s List, student must take at least 12 or more hours of courses while maintaining a 3.5 GPA and above throughout the semester.
Roberts has also been accepted into the WKU nursing program, to start in fall 2015.

Morehead State University’s Early College Program held its summer faculty meeting with nearly 75 high school personnel that will participate in the 2015-16 school year. More than 50 high and technical schools offered MSU classes with more than 2,000 high school students participating in the program.
Among those attending from Henry County were Melissa Shearer and Linda Sarrett.
Each course offered at the high school has the approximate cost savings of $1,000 per student while also allowing students to graduate from college up to a year sooner.

Henry County High School junior Joseph Fischer recently returned home from Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL).
Fischer and 45 other high school students from around the state attended the five-day summer leadership conference, held June 21-25 at the University of Kentucky.
An identical IFAL conference was also held June 14-18 at Murray State University for an additional 48 students.

UK students named to Dean’s List
Twelve University of Kentucky students hailing from Henry County have been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2015 semester.  
A total of 6,001 students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance.
