  • New Castle Elementary School Student of the Week: Kennedy Brown

    Kennedy is a 2nd grader at New Castle Elementary.

     

    What is your favorite subject?

    Writing because it’s cool to sometimes write about what’s going on in your life that is exciting, make people laugh and to make up characters.

     

    I also like reading. When it’s a story and it’s exciting or you read a book about crafts you can learn to make something.

    What is your favorite subject?

    I like to read books.

     

    What do you do for fun?

    I like to play outside and go down the slide.

     

    What do you want to do when you grow up?

    I want to be a teacher. I like to help people.

     

    What kind of music do you like?

    Dance music.

  • Campbellsburg Elementary School Student of the Week: Logan Rice

    Logan is a 5th grader at Campbellsburg Elementary.

     

    Are you looking forward to middle school?

    Kind of, I don’t know if I am prepared for it. I don’t feel confident yet. I don’t know how I am going to do with all of those classes.

    What do you do for fun?

    I play with my brother. We ride bikes and play with our dog.

    What pets do you have?

    A lot of fish. We have mollies and goldfish. We also have a dog named cookie.

    Ray is a 5th grader at Eastern.

     

    Are you looking forward to middle school?

    Yes, I’m looking forward to going to a bigger school and making new friends.

    What’s your favorite subject?

    Math it is the easiest subject. I understand numbers really well. I like long division most of all.

    What do you do for fun?

    I like to play sports. I play baseball, basketball and football.

    What are your favorite teams?

    Miami Heat, UofK,  N.Y. Yankees, Ravens and the Jets.

  • FFA summer highlights

    The FFA chapter headed off to the Kentucky FFA Leadership Training Center in Hardinsburg. Twenty-three chapters from all over Kentucky attended holding 319 students and advisors! Students attended officer classes, special interest classes and athletics for a week full of fun!

  • Rashaad Goodloe

    Rashaad Jamaal Goodloe, a 2008 honor graduate of Shelby County High School, graduated from University of Louisville on May 11, 2013. He received his bachelors of science degree with a major in biology and psychology and a minor concentration in cellular and molecular physiology.
    He is the son of Oliver and Melody Goodloe of Shelbyville.
    Grandparents are Mrs. Dicey White Cochran, Shelbyville; Delores Lindsay, Louisville; Mr. William H. Goodloe, New Castle; and the late Mare E. Goodloe.
    His future plans are to attend medical school.

  • Gabe Adams

    Gabe Adams, son of Jon and Sarah Adams of Bethlehem, was one of 20 seventh grade students selected across the U.S. to attend the Summer Science Sleuths at Duke University in Durham, N.C. He was awarded a full camp scholarship to attend a two-week residential camp focusing on science from June 16-29. Summer Science Sleuths at Duke is presented by the Duke Center for Science Education through a grant from the Hartwell Foundation.

    What are your plans after graduation?

    To go to UofL for my basic requirement classes and then to the University of Denver for video game design or to Chapel Hill for marine biology.

    What are your favorite subjects?

    Science and Math. They are the two fields that make you think instead of just remember.

    What do you do for fun?

    Hang out with friends, go to concerts and play video games.

    What kind of music do you like?

    Hardcore heavy metal like Escape the Fate, Alesana, Asking Alexandria.
