  • Wildcat gofers fall to Carroll County, 172-196

    The Henry County boys golf team is nothing if not consistent.

    The team shot a 192 at Wheatley in an Aug. 20 match against Carroll County, who shot 176. It was the third straight match in which the team shot 192.

    Alex Hadden led the way once again with a 43. Isaac Klempner shot a 46 and Robbie Cruse had his personal best round with a 49. Dillon Allen rounded out the scoring with a 54. Jakob Beckley also played and shot 57.

  • Brooklyn Renee

    Darlene Hedges, Eminence and Billie Ellison, Taylorsville announce the birth of their daughter, Brooklynn Renee. She was born Monday, August 12, 2013 at Baptist East Hospital. She weighed 5 pounds 6 ounces and was 18 ½ inches long.

    Grandparents are Sharon Hedges, Eminence and the late Edward Hedges and Darlene Ellison and Ray Ellison, Taylorsville.

    Writing because it’s cool to sometimes write about what’s going on in your life that is exciting, make people laugh and to make up characters.

     

    I also like reading. When it’s a story and it’s exciting or you read a book about crafts you can learn to make something.

  • Lady Cats down Demons: Fall to Shelby, Walton

    The Henry County Lady Cats volleyball team had a busy opening week, playing three matches three days in a row. They came away with a victory over Williamstown and losses to Shelby County and Walton-Verona.

    The Lady Cats traveled to Williamstown Thursday and came away with 25-12, 25-22 wins to get their first victory of the season.

  • Students get farm to table experience at Youth Ag Day
  • Warriors volleyball team off to fast start

    After a slow start in which each team had trouble getting their serves over the net the Eminence Warriors took off and never looked back, handily defeating Louisville Southern, 2-0.

    The first game started with the teams trading net serves, but at 3-3 Brie Prewitt went back to serve and the Warriors ripped off six straight points to take a 9-3 lead. Prewitt had three aces in the run, while Tiffany Thomas had a block and Kennedy Fitzgerald had a kill.
