  • Battle of the books

    The Eminence Independent School Library sponsored the Eminence Middle School Battle of the Books from April 18-29. The Battle of the Books was a huge success with more than 50 students in the battle. This is the 6th year that Eminence Middle School has participated in the Battle of the Books!

  • 4-H Smart Shooters Season Begins

    The Henry County 4-H Shooting Sports program made a great showing at their first competition this year at the Brewer Invitational Kentucky Hunter Education Challenge.

    The event was held on April 23 in Mercer County and is based on the combined scores of team members in the following categories: Wildlife ID, Hunter Safety Test, Hunter Safety Challenge Course, Rifle, Archery and Shotgun.

  • Hay Day set for Thursday

    The North Central Kentucky Hay Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, May 12, at the Henry County Fairgrounds. The Hay Day will include hay equipment demonstrations, cattle and horse demonstrations, fence building demonstrations, educational seminars, and a large trade show under the marketing pavilion.

    Casey  and Nikki (Holland) Crosser of Henry, Tenn., announce the birth of their son, Eli Alexander Crosser, born February 24, 2011, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris, Tenn. He weighed 8 pounds and 1.2 ounces.
    He has two siblings, Serenity Anne and Cadence Nicole.

    Grandparents are Debbie and Darrell Howard, Owenton; Jay Holland, Eminence; Sammy and Carolyn Baker, Henry, Tenn.; and the late Joe Edward Crosser.

    Great-grandparents are Don and Florence Cook and Delbert and Charlotte Howard, all of Owenton and the late Anne and Avery Holland.

    Travis and Bridget Preston of La Grange announce the birth of their son, Peyton Dale Preston, born March 16, 2011, at Baptist Northeast Hospital in La Grange. He weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 ½ inches long.
