  • Cats defuse Rockets

    With 5.6 seconds left on the clock, and the score 51-50 in Shelby County’s favor, Henry County’s Derek Jeffries rebounded a missed Shelby County shot and started down the floor.

    He was heading for a last-second desperation shot, but head coach Enoch Welch called a timeout as the senior approached half-court.

    The Cats set up a sideline out-of-bounds play that led to a 52-51 Wildcat victory.

  • EHS girls slay Wyverns

    The Warriors played the St. Francis Wyverns on Jan. 15 and came out on top 37-20. The Warriors used a 12-2 second quarter to open up the lead and cruised in the second half to the 17-point win despite serious foul trouble throughout the game.

    Sherry Brees led the Warriors in scoring with 14 points and Savannah Mertz added 11 points.

  • Warriors fall to Owen in All A

    When the Eminence Warriors first met the Owen County Rebels this season, Eminence pulled off a big upset.

    The Warriors surely were hoping for another upset Friday night as they paired up against the Rebels again in the semifinals of the 8th region All A Classic tournament. But it was not to be.

    Hunting and fishing and showing cattle.

  • HCHS Cheerleaders win 8th Region cheerleading competition

    The Henry County High School Cheerleaders won first place at the 8th Regional KHSAA Competition on Saturday.

    They competed in the Class 1A Large Division. The HCHS cheerleaders advanced to the KHSAA State Cheerleading Competition at WKU in Bowling Green on Saturday, Jan. 26.

    This is the first year for the KHSAA sponsored competitions.

  • A living will may be the most valuable gift

    There are many gifts that we give to our families throughout our lives – time, love, money, attention; the list goes on and on.  One of the most valuable gifts we can give our families is to have a living will.
    I remember when my grandparents had failing health, and my family was caring for them.  They had living wills and had taken the time to let each of us know how they wanted to spend the final weeks and days of their lives.

    Harlie is in the 5th grade at Campbellsburg.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Social Studies. I like seeing how life was back then. I like learning about how farmers worked then and the Indians. I am part Native American.  We just finished the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere, the real story was he had to go and warn other Sons of Liberty.

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    Isaac is a 5th grader at Eastern.

    What is your favorite subject?

    Math. I like working with numbers. It’s cool to see all the patterns work out. How to multiply certain things. The math tricks: you can multiply straight across on fractions.

     

    What would you like to do when you grow up?

    Law enforcement like a wildlife agent. A game warden. I like hunting and I’m experienced with guns.
