Stifling man-to-man defense brought the Eminence Warriors’ season to a grinding halt last week.
The Warriors postseason run — their best in seven years — ended when they ran into Simon Kenton. The Pioneers defense was so tight, the Warriors shot just 22 percent from the field in a 64-33 loss in the first round of the 8th Region tournament.
Warriors coach Chris Nethery summed the game up in a sentence.
“Their defense forced us into a lot of bad shots that led to easy transition baskets for them,” he said.
