  • Deputy’s salary questioned

I would like to let the people of Henry County know about a recent change that has been made at the Henry County Sheriff’s office.

It appears that Sheriff Danny Cravens has changed his son’s hourly pay scale as a part-time deputy sheriff from $12.98 per hour to $25.31 per hour. No other employee at the Henry County Sheriff’s office received a pay increase when Deputy Cravens was changed.

Christmas in August poker run a success

  • Reader questions timing of project

It’s amazing how things get done when it’s time to get re-elected. For years, a ballfield has sat empty, with just a backstop in place.

It seemed to me that nobody cared whether or not it got any use for the kids in this county.

Thief on the loose in Eminence

We had rented a house on 578 Sulphur Avenue in Eminence. We were in the process of taking the old fence down around the house and putting a new wooden fence up.

We had laid the old metal gate to the fence in our yard to wake up the next morning, to find somebody had come into our yard and stole the gate with the post attached.

If somebody needed it that bad, all they had to do was ask!

I do not steal and don’t like or appreciate people who do!

    President’s orders don’t sit well

A recent Letter to the Editor extolled the virtues of an unproven Democratic Party Senatorial candidate, while bashing her opponent.

At this point I believe it is important to state I am a registered Democrat, union member, and former union lobbyist. Union lobbyists and Republicans don’t normally agree on anything, so why would I take issue with a letter bashing Republicans and elevating Democrats?

    Campbellsburg Day a success

The City of Campbellsburg would like to thank everyone who came out to Campbellsburg Day on Saturday June, 21st. Even though it was hot, we had a wonderful day.

Our parade was phenomenal and we cannot begin to thank each and every one of you who were part of our parade. You know who you are and without you our parade would not have been successful, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
