  • Another Great Youth Soccer Season

    Our kids just finished another great season in the Henry County Youth Soccer League.  I wanted to take just a minute to thank all of the coaches and volunteers that gave of their time and talents this year.   Between sign-ups, scheduling games and practices, prepping the fields, scheduling refs, and dealing with all of the other little things there is a tremendous amount of work that went into making the soccer season the success that it was.  Your efforts are appreciated!  We look forward to another great season this fall.

    Courthouses throughout Kentucky are not plush.  Nor do they need to be.  Some are very lacking in spaciousness.  Traveling to many different ones all over the state during my tenure with Abandoned Mine Lands and Department of Transportation, I had no problem doing my job.

We all donate all of our time to making the soccer league even possible.  It is a tremendous value for your and my kids to have a sport they can participate in for only $50 and get a season, referees, trophy, uniform and a season ending bash.

  • Support the Pancreatic Cancer Research & Education Act

    Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all the cancers tracked by the American Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute that still has a five-year survival rate in the single digits — six percent. There are no early detection tools and no effective treatments. Despite these facts, the federal government has no long-term comprehensive research strategy to combat pancreatic cancer.

  • Thanks for help with Fifth Grade graduation

    The 5th grade class at Eastern Elementary would like to thank the following businesses for all the donations which made their graduation caps and party a success.  Monetary donations and/or gifts were given by Affordable Signs and Apparel, All-American Sports, Choctaw Jim’s, John Shuck, State Farm, Thompson Electric, Three D Electric, and Brownings. Great food or gift certificates were given by Dairy Queen, Norm’s, Snappy, Hometown, Chat-n-Nibble and various parents. This would not have been a success without these people.
