  • Thanks for support over the years

    After 25 years Mary and I have decided to close the retail operation of Barnett Lumber Company the end of the month. Along with Craig we will continue to operate the construction side of Barnett Lumber. We will continue to build new homes, churches, etc., including selling and installing kitchen cabinets.  I plan on slowing down and will be “Craig’s helper” with him taking the lead.

    A positive start during the first few days of the 112th Congress took a tragic turn on Jan. 8 when Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (AZ-8) was attacked leaving her in critical condition, more than a dozen others injured and six dead. The shooting has shocked and saddened all Americans, who now pause to reflect on the violence and pray for the victims and their families.

  • Christmas thief is a cheap soul

    Our family put a Christmas saddle/flowers on my dad’s grave on Christmas Day at the New Castle Cemetery. By the next morning it had been stolen. These were put on in memory of someone that we loved very much.  Yet was stolen by someone that was truly a heartless and soulless person. We have heard this happens every year to people, and it is truly a sad thing.  Our family hopes our hurt brought you and your family some happiness over the holiday. You truly are a sad and cheap soul.

  • Wow

    On Nov. 4, 2010, I was at home and became really sick and had to call Henry County EMS to transport me to the VA hospital where I was admitted to the hospital for about five days. After getting out of the hospital and being home a couple of weeks, I received a bill from Henry County EMS for $1,391. I was so surprised by the amount of this bill that my heart skipped a beat and I thought I was going to have to go back to the hospital.
