 The repeal and replace zombie returns

Once again I write about the potential effects on Henry Countians from the Senate’s “repeal and replace” legislation on health insurance, which refuses to die in the U.S. Senate.

 Wants something done

Depending on who you ask, Kentucky’s public pension systems are short somewhere between $64 billion to $84 billion. If Kentuckians over the age of 18 were responsible for paying the more conservative estimate of $64 billion, they would each have to shell out $20,000. 

 Adult ed adopts a new brand, creates buzz

Jefferson Community and Technical College Henry County Adult Education is extremely appreciative of past support from the community for its many programs.

During the 2016-17 school year, the learning center served 62 students.  Many goals were met:

• 5 earned their GED

The Henry County Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 155 has been named by the Department of Defense as a partner in commemorating the 50-year anniversary of the Vietnam War (www.Viewnamwar50th.com). 

DAVA members have organized a Vietnam War Veterans Tribute Truck/Car/ Motorcycle Show for Aug. 12 with activities from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 891 Ballardsville Road. Car show participants will also participate in the Eminence Day parade.
