The Independent Order of Oddfellows Grand Lodge of Kentucky is interested in revitalizing the Oddfellows lodge in Eminence. We would hope there would be some interest from the residents of Henry County in helping to reestablish the lodge and seeing some of the projects that have been happening over the years maybe start to reappear.

I would like to thank everyone for their support of the Henry County Memorial Day Program. This is a very special time when we gather to honor Henry County’s fallen soldiers. Without the assistance of many this program would not be possible. 

I would like to especially thank the “Henry County Local,” Eminence Christian Church, Prewitt’s Funeral Home and all those who participated. 

The Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville teamed up with Henry County local veteran volunteers on May 20, Armed Forces Day, to establish the first Veterans’ Fish Outing held at Lake Jericho. 

VA Director Martin Traxler brought veterans from Louisville to participate in a fishing trip that would allow them to temporarily escape to the country for a little rest and relaxation.

This Mother’s Day is a reminder that our Commonwealth needs strong measures to support pregnant workers.

All too often, pregnant workers are pushed out of their jobs because our current laws don’t explicitly guarantee reasonable accommodations for pregnancy and childbirth. The Kentucky Pregnant Workers’ Act would enshrine important protections into our law.
