  • Rick Rand for State House

    As election day — Tuesday, Nov. 6 — nears, the voters of Henry County will help decide who will represent them as their state representative in State House District 47 for the next two years. Currently we have a person who has served us as an outstanding legislator since 2003. That person is Rick Rand, someone who has always been there for the citizens of Henry County.

  • ROTARY CLUB SPONSORS YOUTH

    The Eminence Rotary club sponsored four ninth grade students from Henry County at a Rotary Youth Leadership Camp in Greenville. They participated with students from around the state in team and leadership skill building activities during the weekend camp. The students were honored at the Rotary meeting on Oct. 15. Pictured from left are Tatiana Perez (EIS) Izabelle Miller (HCHS) and  Jacob Watson (HCHS). Jeremy Beach (EIS) was not able to attend.

  • Making the trip back to Henry County

    Ahhh. It feels so good to be back in Henry County! After more than nine days on the road; our little place in Henry County could rival the Biltmore House. At least in my eyes. Even Gunner Puppy was happy not to ride any more — a rarity since he loves to ride in any type of vehicle. It’s a long trip from North Pole, Alaska, to Henry County, but well worth every minute of it.

  • Make budgets cut fair

    While I was at the Fiscal Court meeting on Tuesday, October 16th, the budget committee that had been appointed by County Judge John Logan Brent discussed options on how the county was going to make the appropriate cuts for the county. We realize that this is a very difficult job for a committee, and especially making decisions that are fair for all. Budget cuts  were made to EMS, parks and recreations and the Sheriff’s budgets. We realize that the budget committee went after the biggest cuts first. I am all for budget cuts and Henry County should have done this years ago.
