  • Campbellsburg's decision

    C’burg’s decision
Before I moved to Campbellsburg 11 years ago, I researched the town online and found the community I wanted to locate to. Democratic voting, liberal thinking small town with a sprinkling of diversified ethnic mix, I found my home online and moved my family in.
As a Democrat, I was proud to endorse Obama for president and proudly had an election sign put up in my front yard.

This annual event will be in the Eminence Independent Schools Gymnasium. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and a buffet dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. The Silent Auction will occur throughout the evening followed by a live auction at the end of the program. • Our thanks to you

The five board members of the Eminence Independent Schools and the five board members of the Henry County Board of Education oversee budgets, make tough decisions, maintain the upkeep of our schools, and ensure academic excellence for all students. They also make it a priority that each individual child, in the Henry County and Eminence Independent district, gets what he or she needs to successfully learn in school and beyond. All that is done in the face of shrinking state and federal dollars for education.

  • Your choice and your vote are a part of your duty

    By Jon Park

I recently read a post on Facebook that basically said there are those who are willing to sit out the election next November, if their candidate does not win the primary.

And that is how we ended up with four more years of Barack ‘I have a pen and a phone’ Obama, and ‘Get Over It’ Beshear.

In the last gubernatorial elections, there were those who did not care for, then, Sen. David Williams’ demeanor, and sat home.

  • Who else should be in your paper?

I have an affection for Henry County and most know it.

Growing up here and having family here, I have enjoyed the trust and confidence from many in the county that an outsider may not immediately get.

  • Announcing candidacy

Hello, my name is Shanda Scriber Archer, and I am writing to inform you that I have filed as a Democratic candidate for the office of Henry County Clerk. The date of the primary election will be Tuesday, May 20, 2014.

Although I know many of you, at this time I would like to briefly introduce myself and explain what brought me to this decision.
