Diabetes is not just a problem of the individual. Diabetes is a problem of the family and society. Diabetes is not a disease of the weak-willed. It is not a disease just for the obese. No one with diabetes decided to not care about their health. We all care about our health and do the best that we can.
The IRS continues to warn consumers throughout Kentucky to remain on guard against scam phone calls from thieves intent on stealing their money or their identity, according to a news release from the federal agency. Criminals pose as IRS agents and use threats to trick victims into sending money or giving personal information.
The Henry County Middle School eighth-grade middle school team won the North Central Kentucky Conference basketball tournament Saturday. The Wildcats’ three wins in the tournament are part of a five-game winning streak that started with wins over Eminence and East Oldham on Thursday and Friday.
Hopefully by now, you have heard of the emerald ash borer (EAB). It is an invasive insect that is native to Asia, and has killed millions of ash trees throughout parts of the United States. The emerald ash borer is here, and has done an extensive amount of damage to our forests.

Henry County Middle School hosted the annual Reality Store that allowed middle and high school students from Eminence and Henry County to get a taste of the real world. Students were given a budget and had to go to various tables to buy things like houses, cars and insurance.
Over the last four years I have witnessed hundreds of high school sporting events and the one impression that always sticks in my mind is the vast amount of difference in talent levels and performance among high school teams – even among schools placed in size classifications such as football and track.
I have witnessed teams that performed so poorly that the sport they were playing was almost unrecognizable.
I would walk away and say to myself, “That has to be the worst team in the state.”
Henry County’s unemployment rate dropped to under 4 percent in September, according to a news release from the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training.
Unemployment rates fell in 112 Kentucky counties between September 2014 and September 2015, rose in six counties and remained the same in two counties, Muhlenberg and Russell, state officials said.
