Warriors’ football team to host benefit concert

The Eminence High School football team will host a benefit concert featuring Six Miles South from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Steel Technologies Shooting Range.

All proceeds will go to the Warriors’ football program to buy equipment for the upcoming season. The charge is $7 per adult and $3 per school-aged child. Pre-school children get in free. There are no pre-sale tickets. All admissions will be pay at the gate.

Warriors fall to Owen, 17-1

The Eminence Warriors softball team fell to the Owen Co. Rebels 17-1 in three innings Monday night in the first round of the district tournament.

The Lady Rebels pounded out 14 hits and took advantage of eight Warrior errors to score 10 runs in the first inning and seven runs in the second inning.

The Warriors scored a run in the top of the third when Lyndsay Craigmyle walked with one out. Kelsie Craigmyle followed with a double to left field to put runners on second and third. Savannah Mertz drove in the run with a groundout to give the Warriors there only run.

YoCo attends drinking...

Several members of Youth Coalition traveled to a regional underage drinking prevention conference in Louisville last week to provide a presentation titled, “Empowering Youth to be Agents of Change.” Members that attended were, from left to right: Morgan Miller, Sophie Hughes, Ethan McCleskey, Rebecca Spreitzer, Shelby Abrams and Renee Toole.

7 compete at AA State Track meet

Seven Henry County High School athletes competed at the AA State Track Meet Friday at the University of Louisville.
Cathryn Fischer, Eddie Jones, Haley Lewis, Morgan Miller, Destany Crawford, Teagan Fish and Connor Finley represented the Wildcat track team in muggy, breezy, drizzly conditions.
Conditions were not favorable for personal records in the hurdle events, discus and pole vault with a stiff breeze blowing into the faces of those competitors and drizzle adding an extra complication to the pole vault.

Samantha is a junior on the Warriors’ softball and archery teams.

 

What are your hobbies?

Anything that will help my sports. Going to the shooting range, tumbling for cheerleading etc.

 

What about non-school activities?

I participate in pageants and help with the little Mr. and Mrs. Eminence day pageant as co-director.

 

How about school clubs?

Senior Beta and Spanish club.

Warriors fall to KCD, Paris

The Eminence Warriors closed out their season with two losses at home.

The Paris Greyhounds broke open a close game in the sixth inning with five runs to thwart the Warriors’ hopes of a second win on the season.

Paris opened the game with a run in the top of the first when they got a two-out single, a stolen base and an RBI-single.

After a scoreless second inning the Greyhounds added two in the third on a Warrior error, a walk and a two-run double.

Late spring and early summer are popular times of year for yard sales. Yard sales can often be a win-win for both the buyer and the seller. As people transition from winter to summer by cleaning out closets and spring cleaning they often notice the amount of stuff that has accumulated in their house over the last several months (or years).
