McClish slam fuels Cats' win

Seth Williams was already pitching a good game for the Wildcats last week against Williamstown.

In five complete innings of work, he coughed up just five hits, struckout nine and allowed no walks in the first round of the North Central Kentucky Conference tournament.

But Aaron McClish had a good day, too. McClish, was 4-4 at the plate, including a grand slam for extra flavor.

That grand slam, a no-doubt shot to left field, came as part of a seven-run fourth inning that gave the Cats an 11-0 lead.

Track Cats Advance to State

High school track and field athletes work throughout their season with the goal of having their best day at the regional track meet at the end of the year.

With that in mind the Henry County Wildcat track team put that work on to the test last week, ending the season with personal records on May 8 at the Class AA Region 3 track championships hosted by North Oldham High School.

Eastern Elementary School Students of the Month

Track Cats host NCKTC, All-Comers meets

The Henry County track team hosted two meets last week. On April 30 they hosted an all comers meet with the boys team finishing first and the girls team second. Several individuals set personal records in one of the final tune ups for the regional meet to be held today at North Oldham.

The Eminence track team also participated and got a first place performance from Shelby Armstrong in the long jump.

On Thursday the Wildcats hosted the North Central Ky. Track Conference Championships with Eminence again participating in the event.

Meet local farmers and get fresh local produce

As usual, the Henry County Farmers Market opened for business on the Saturday before Derby Day, and will continue to operate on Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons at the Henry County Courthouse front lawn.
We hope you can visit for a couple of great reasons.  First, you’ll be meeting some of our wonderful local farm families.

Town and Country Homemaker Club shows well at State Cultural Arts Competition.  Melissa Beatty received a blue and champion in pen and ink with roughing. Yvonne Clark received a blue for her pen and ink,  a blue on her beaded jewelry, a blue on her original design jewelry, and a blue on her decorative painting. And Ruth Earl Harrod received a blue on her knitting and a blue and champion on her beaded scarf.
