  • Warriors advance to regional...


    The Eminence Warriors volleyball team advanced to the Eighth Region tournament by defeating the Henry County Lady Cats 3-0 Oct. 18 in the first round of 31st District tournament. The Warriors lost in the championship game 3-0 to Owen County.

    The Warriors jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the first set and slowly built on that lead as they got strong play at the net from Sarah Bryant, Ruthie Satterly and Madison Sweeney.

  • Scrambling for Greg


    Tim and Karen Davis have turned a tragic moment in their life into a positive way to help others and remember their son, Greg.

    Greg Davis was a 16-year-old student at Henry County High School who loved the outdoors. He loved to fish, play golf and do just about anything that involved escaping the confines of a house or school building. Davis, a rising junior, died in an ATV accident in the summer of 2011.

  • Cougars claw Warriors


    The Eminence Warriors hosted Louisville Holy Cross in their final district game of the season Friday night looking to improve on their performance against the Cougars from last year when they lost 48-0.

    The Warriors were much improved on offense as they moved the ball consistently and scored two touchdowns.

    But Holy Cross used outside running and passing to overwhelm the Warriors’ defense and come away with a 32-point victory.

  • Yellowjackets swarm Wildcats


    The Henry County Wildcats traveled to Louisville Friday night for a district game with Central High School and after hanging with the Yellowjackets for two quarters, were overrun by Central’s big play capability.

    Central got their first big play in the first period on their opening drive when they scored on a 70-yard touchdown run on third and eight. The extra point made it 7-0.

    The Wildcats struck back later in the opening period when they reached the three-yard line before their drive stalled out.

  • HCMS XC team wins at Bowling...


    The Henry County Middle School cross country team traveled to Bowling Green Saturday to participate in the Western Kentucky Meet of Champions and came away with wins in both the girls and boys races.

  • Bengals win JV and varsity...


    The Campbellsburg Bengals JV won the Henry County Youth Football League championship with a 31-0 win over the Eastern Colts on Saturday and a 26-0 win over the New Castle Chiefs on Sunday.

    In Saturday’s game Ray Matthews had three touchdowns including for 90 yards. Dylan Gallagher and Traven McFarland each had a touchdown and McFarland ran in an extra point.

    The offensive and defensive line of Drew Cole Kaleb Bullock, Tyler King, Caden Bruner, Mike Golden, Luke Highfill, Logan Perdue and Rile Moore was key to the victory.

  • HC elementary race results


    The second Henry County elementary school cross country race was held at the Henry County Recreation and Services Park Oct. 13.

    Kennedy Brown of New Castle Elementary won the girls’ race that covered 1.25 miles in a time of 9:59. Trinity Crow of Eastern Elementary was second in 10:07.

    Eastern won the team competition with 22 points followed by New Castle with 52 points and Campbellsburg with 56 points.

  • Warriors win big one against...


    The Eminence Warriors volleyball team had a lot on the line Oct. 12 in their final regular season match at Gallatin County. A win would guarantee them a spot in the 2-3 seed game in the district tournament against Henry County. A loss opened up the possibility of losing the tiebreaker with Gallatin and forcing them into the 4-5 seed game.

    The Warriors understood this and went out and took care of business by defeating the Lady Wildcats 3-1.

    The Warriors won the first set 25-17.

    Henry County Youth basketball signups

    Henry County Youth Basketball League signups for boys and girls K through sixth grade will be held at various dates and locations.

    Saturday, Nov. 5 there will be signups at the Campbellsburg Elementary Fall Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. and at Eastern Elementary Fall Festival from 5 to 7 p.m.

    Friday, Nov. 11 there will be signups at New Castle Elementary Fall Festival from 5 to 7 p.m.

    Saturday Nov. 12 there will be signups at Henry County Middle School from noon to 2 p.m.

  • Gallatin downs Cats, 1-0


    The Henry County Wildcats played Gallatin County in the first round of the district tournament Oct. 10 at Owen County and came away on the short end of a 1-0 defensive battle that saw few good scoring chances throughout the game.
