  • Lady Cats host tri-match


    The Henry County Lady Cats have been on the road most of the season but Thursday afternoon, they finally played a home match against Walton-Verona and Collins. Collins edged the Lady Cats by one stroke to win the match while Walton came in a distant third.

    Collins totaled 188 strokes by their top four players while Henry County totaled 189. Walton’s score was 235.

  • Spencer to Wright bomb brings...


    The Henry County Wildcats struggled offensively for three quarters Friday night in their first home game against Owen County. But the offense got rolling in the fourth period and Henry County came back to defeat the Rebels 14-10 on a 68-yard pass play from Trevyn Spencer to D’Andre Wright with one minute left in the game.

  • Nicholas defeats Warriors


    The seventh-ranked Nicholas County Bluejackets used their superior size and strength to overwhelm the Eminence Warriors Friday night at home.

    The Bluejackets’ offensive line averages 250 pounds per player and they used that size advantage to create numerous opportunities for the backs all night as they jumped out to a 41-6 lead midway through the third quarter and went on to win 55-14.

  • Lady Cats take round one


    The Eminence Warriors hosted Henry County Aug. 30 in the first match between the district rivals and fell 3-0.

    The Lady Cats got off to a fast start and built an 18-11 lead in the first set. But the Warriors came back to narrow the margin to two points at 20-18 on an ace by Madison Sweeney.

    Henry County was able to stop the run and finished with the final five points to win the first 25-18.

  • Hadden wins HCIT in six-hole...


    When HCHS freshman golfer Alex Hadden teed off at about 1:30 Saturday in the Henry County Invitational golf tournament, he probably couldn’t have dreamed that he would not know the final outcome of his round until dusk. But that is what happened when he and South Oldham’s Cooper Gray battled through six playoff holes before Hadden finally won with a par on the 24th hole of the day for both players.

    Hadden and Gray both finished regulation with a one-under par 71 before their epic playoff battle.

  • Lady Cats draw with Lady Rockets...


    The Henry County Lady Cats are still looking for their first win of the season but they are getting closer. After drawing 3-3 with Holy Cross last week, the Lady Cats hosted Shelby County Aug. 30 and came away with another tie, this time the score was 1-1.

  • Cross Country Cats run at Shelby...


    The Henry County cross country team traveled to Shelbyville Saturday to take part in the Shelby County Invitational and pleased their coach DeeDee New with the improvement they showed from last week.

  • Wildcats fall to Anderson, 4-0


    The Henry County Wildcats soccer team hosted Anderson County Aug. 30 and fell to the Bearcats 4-0.

    Anderson County scored early in the game on a breakaway after the Wildcats lost the ball in a bad position.

    The Wildcats’ defense settled in after the goal and held the Bearcats at bay until with 15:44 left, the Bearcats scored from 15 yards out after a chip pass was lofted over the Wildcats’ defense to an open player who scored in a one-on-one situation with goalkeeper Noah Mancuso.

  • Lady Cat golfers defeat Gallatin


    The Henry County Lady Cats golf team traveled to Warsaw Aug. 30 and defeated the Lady Wildcats of Gallatin County 195 to 232.

    Maddie Hensley led the way with a 40. Bayleigh Boyer shot 43, Nikki Perkinson shot 51 and Hannah Merowelli shot 60. Carleigh Peyton shot 64 as the Lady Cats’ fifth golfer.

  • Warriors lose another close one...


    One week after losing a tight five-set match to district rival Carroll County, the Eminence Warriors found themselves in a similar position when they took on another district rival, Owen County.

    The Lady Rebels won the final two sets Thursday night to win the match, 22-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-18, 15-11.
