    For a game that was hyped to be a county showdown between undefeated Eminence and a Henry County squad coming off its first loss of the season, Henry wasted no time in putting the Warriors away as the Wildcats scored less than a minute into the contest and never looked back.

    With wins over Williamstown and Owen County last week, the Henry County volleyball team reached 20 wins during the regular season for the first time in the program’s history.

  • EHS to honor fourth class of...

    The fourth class of the Eminence High School Hall of Fame will be honored this weekend, which includes two current EHS football coaches, two former superintendents, a librarian, a school board member, a golfer, and a former teacher and coach. The inductees will officially join the first three classes with a dinner this Saturday night inside the high school’s cafeteria at 7 o’clock. Also, they will be recognized during halftime of Eminence’s football game against Evangel Christian the night before.

    Eminence’s volleyball team closed out its regular season Monday night and will open post-season play a week later against Anderson County at 6 p.m.

    The 28th District tournament will be held at Anderson, who is also the No. 1 seed in the tourney at 17-10 overall and 5-1 against district opponents. Eminence is the No. 4 seed with a 1-16 overall record and 0-6 in the district. The winner of that game will advance to the district finals against either No. 2 Shelby County or No. 3 Henry County.

  • Ladycats 'on the upward...

    The Henry County girls’ soccer team dropped two more games last week — 6-2 against Western Hills on Wednesday and 3-1 against Fern Creek on Thursday — but they are still “on the upward curve of progression,” head coach Shannon Snider said of his Ladycats who brought a 3-1-7 record into this week.

    “I’m still happy with how things are going,” he said. “It’s all about building for the future at this point.”
