  • Warriors fall to Rebels in...

    The Eminence Warriors squared off against the Owen County Rebels Feb. 19 in the first round of the 31st District tournament and fell to the host school, 78-70. The Warriors, who had defeated the Rebels twice during the regular season, fell behind by double digits early in the game but dug their way out of the hole to take the lead briefly in the second half.

    The Warriors played most of the game without the services of starter Josh Dotson who left the game in the opening minutes because of a back injury.

  • Wyatt Finnell signs with Thomas...

    Henry County High School student-athlete Wyatt Finnell signed a letter of intent to play for the Thomas More Saints’ football team next season.

    Finnell, a wideout on the Wildcats’ football team this season, signed in front of family and friends in the HCHS library Feb. 9.

    Finnell said signing with the Saints was an easy decision.

  • Warriors wallop Wolverines, 74-63

    The Eminence Warriors hosted the Walden Wolverines in their final home game of the season and celebrated senior night with an 11-point victory.

    Both teams got off to a slow start after senior night festivities but Trey Gregory’s put back got the Warriors ahead with 5:52 left in the first period.

    After Walden tied it, Josh Dotson scored on a layup to give the Warriors the lead for good.

    The Warriors finished the opening period leading 10-6 before opening up the offense in the second period.

  • EHS girls defeat Villa Madonna,...

    The Eminence Warriors girls basketball team travelled to northern Kentucky Friday night to take on the Villa Madonna Blue Lightning and came away with a win that was more lopsided than the score indicates.

    Eminence jumped out to a 26-9 lead after one period of play as senior Tavi West exploded for 14 points in the opening quarter. West hit three 3-pointers in the opening frame.

  • Lady Cats down Trimble

    The Henry County Lady Cats took on the host Trimble County Lady Raiders Feb. 13 and came away with a seven-point victory in a low-scoring affair.

    Henry County led by three points at 9-6 after the first period. Their defense was even stingier in the second period as they outscored the Lady Raiders 8-2 to lead 17-10 at halftime.

    The Lady Raiders improved in the third period and outscored Henry County 12-6 to pull within one point going into the final period of play.

  • Wildcats lose to Trimble,...

    The Henry County Wildcats travelled to Bedford Feb. 13 to take on the Trimble County Raiders for the third time this season. The Wildcats had won the previous two meetings between the teams but the third time was the charm for the Raiders as they defended their home court with a 51-44 victory.

  • EHS comes back to win vs. Lady...

    The Eminence Warriors hosted Henry County in round two of the local rivalry Friday night and got revenge for their earlier loss to the Lady Cats with a 14-point victory.

    Ella White’s 3-pointer gave Henry County a 3-2 lead after Lexi Tillett opened the scoring with an inside basket.

    Savannah Medley scored inside to make it 5-2 before Tavi West hit a 3-pointer to tie it with 4:52 left in the opening period.

  • Wildcats take round two of...

    The Henry County Wildcats fell behind the host Eminence Warriors by as much as 10 points in the first half before coming from behind to win round two of the local rivalry, 70-67, Feb. 6.

    The Wildcats got off to a good start as Zack Foree drained a 3-pointer to open the scoring in the first period. After Maurice Richardson countered with two points on a 15-foot jumper, Tyler Raisor scored on a put back to make it 5-2 with 4:24 left in the opening period.

  • Warriors top Aces, 71-62

    The Eminence Warriors traveled to Cloverport Saturday to take on the Frederick Fraize Aces and came back from a 10-point first half deficit to get their 14th victory of the season.

    The Warriors led 23-20 after a fast-paced first period but Fraize outscored Eminence 27-14 in the second period to lead 47-37 at halftime.

  • Lady Cats defeat Washington

    The Henry County Lady Cats won a game of big runs over the Washington County Lady Commanders Saturday.

    The Lady Cats started the game with a 3-pointer from Katheirne Buckler that ignited a game-opening 9-1 run.

    Washington County pulled to within three points at 9-6 with 1:08 left in the opening period before the Lady Cats pulled out to a 13-8 lead after a put back by Savannah Medley to end the first period.
