  • Lady Cats roll in Beach Bash

    The Henry County Lady Cats continued to slug their way past opponents in Florida last week.

    After dropping their first game on March 31 to Corbin and defeating LaRue County April 1, the Cats won two games on Thursday against North Hardin and Breckinridge County before wrapping up the week on Friday with a victory over Fern Creek.

    The Cats put up 29 runs in the three games and got a pitching gem from Krista DeBurger against Breckinridge County.

  • Cats take 2nd in Valley...

     

    After a water-logged March that allowed the Henry County baseball team to play just three games, the Wildcats opened April with seven games in one week.

    The Cats played four games in the Valley Invitational to start the week and then played three games in two days in the Henry/Shelby Wood Bat Classic over the weekend.

  • State gets back-toback titles

    Little old Kentucky has to be prouder than ever of its basketball heritage. Last year the University of Kentucky dominated the basketball scene with one of the best teams to ever wear the blue and white.

    This year, the Louisville Cardinals dominated the postseason on its way to the school’s third national title. That makes 11 NCAA national championship trophies that reside in the Bluegrass State.

    In a state of 4.3 million people that is a pretty impressive showing on the basketball scene.

  • Wildcats finish strong at North...

    The Henry County track team had a strong showing on Saturday at the North Hardin Invitational as several athletes set personal records or got season best performances.

    Eddie Jones set a personal record by 1.5 feet in the pole vault and set another personal record in the 200-meter run.

    Cole Nelson continued to lower his 400-meter dash time with another personal record of 54.78.

    Austin Armstrong was second in the discus, set a personal record in the 200-meter dash and had a season best in the high jump.

  • Warriors baseball falls to...

    The Eminence Warriors baseball team scored the first run of the game against the Frankfort Panthers Friday, but fell 11-1 to the Panthers.

    The Warriors got their run when Austin Jones led the game off with a single and Mack McKee sacrificed him to second base. Cole Lawson came through with a one-out, RBI-double to score Jones.

  • Cats get first win of the season

    The Henry County Wildcats got their first win of the season on Monday in the opening round of the Valley Invitational Tournament.

    They dropped a pair of games last week to Grant County on Thursday and Atherton on Friday. The Wildcats continued to struggle at the plate against Grant County where they were blanked 8-0. The Wildcats’ bats showed some life against Atherton but control problems for their pitchers allowed Atherton to win 15-5.

  • Lady Cats beat Larue 6-5

     

    The Henry County Lady Cats are spending their spring break in Destin, Florida while playing in the Florida Beach Bash. On Sunday the Lady Cats lost to Corbin 9-8. On Monday Henry County bounced back with a 6-5 win over Larue County.
