By Cathy Toole

The Emerald Gala was held at Hermitage Farm in Oldham County on April 27. The event was sponsored by the 4-H Foundation to showcase the 4-H Emerald Award winners for the year and serve as a fundraising event for future 4-H programming. Henry County’s own Camryn McManis was one of the four Emerald Award recipients this year that were honored at the event. The Emerald Award is reserved for the highest achieving 4-H members from across the state. Camryn is the daughter of Mary and Kevin McManis.
