Wednesday, April 1

Karate classes will be held at the Community Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Children’s Story and Craft hour every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Pleasureville Christian Church. Also, the community library at the church is open to the public from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The Henry County Middle School SBDM Council will be held in the HCMS conference room at 4 p.m.

Eastern Elementary SBDM Council will meet at 4 p.m. in the school library.

Thursday, April 2


TOPS 298 will meet at Orville Baptist Church. Weigh in 4 p.m. New members welcome. Open house will begin at 5 p.m. following meeting.

Friday, April 3

Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon meet at 8 p.m. at the Eminence Baptist Church. The group will also meet Sunday, April 5 at 7 p.m. at Henry County Library and Tuesday, April 7 at 8 p.m. at Eminence Methodist Church. All of these meetings are non-smoking.

A New Direction in Life, a Christian support group for alcohol/drugs or other addictions will meet from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Eminence.

EHS Project prom will hold its annual fish fry beginning at 10:30 a.m.  at Eminence Christian Church. Dine in, carry out and delivery to local businesses. Fish sandwich is $5. Meal is $7 and includes fish sandwich, two side items (French fries, baked beans or coleslaw) and a homemade dessert. Extra side items, desserts and drinks can be purchased for $1 each. All proceeds benefit the 2009 EHS Project Prom.

United Citizens Bank Relay For Life team will host a bake sale in the lobby of the New Castle Office beginning at 9 a.m.

Saturday, April 4


AA meeting at 8 p.m. at the Pleasureville City Hall building. These meetings will be non smoking.

The Smithfield school reunion will be held at 11 a.m. at the Smithfield Baptist Church. Meal cost is $11. Please submit monies to Angie Raymer Baxter, P.O Box 673, New Castle, KY 40050 by April 1.

Homestead Nursing Center is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt for children up to age 12 at the nursing center, 50 Adams Street, New Castle. The hunt will be held at 10 a.m. A bake sale and hot dog lunch will be available for donations to Relay For Life. Please bring your Easter baskets.

Tuesday, April 7

The Alateen “Together We Can Make It” group will meet at 8 p.m. at the Methodist Church.

Saturday afternoon worship with a theme, Is Jesus Enough?, at Main Street Baptist Church from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Come as you are.

A community Easter egg hunt will be held at Pleasureville Park (beside Pleasureville Firehouse) for children ages 1 to 10 at 1:30 p.m. This event is hosted by all Pleasureville Churches.

Sunday, April 12

The grief support group for people dealing with the loss of a loved one or close friend will meet at 3 p.m. at Henry Christian Church. The group meets the second Sunday of each month.

Tuesday, April 14

The North Central KY Goat Producers Association will meet at 7 p.m. at the Henry County Extension Office. Darrold Akridge, ANR Agent from Bullitt County will present a program on website options for marketing animals or farm products. Any goat or sheep producer is welcome to attend. Henry County High School SBDM Council will meet at 6 p.m. at Henry County High School.
