It’s an emotional finish for the Ladycats

In an emotional finish to a basketball season with plenty of highs and few blemishes, the Henry County Ladycats took a 47-37 loss to Owen County in the opening round of the 31st District tournament last Tuesday night.

Playing at Gallatin County High School, the Ladycats were denied the chance to reach the district finals and advance to the 8th Region tournament for the first time since 2005. The Cats won their final seven regular-season games and their 15-10 overall record is the best in six years, when the 2004 squad went 20-7.
