Church Activities

Henry County churches interested in playing in coed softball tournaments this summer at Harry Hill Park should contact Drennon Pastor Corey Beatty at (502) 541-0296.

Sulphur Christian Church meets for Worship and Wellness, a whole wellness program that includes spiritual, physical and emotional wellness, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday.

Drennon Christian Church meets from 6 to 8 p.m. most Wednesdays. Check the Facebook page for the current schedule.

Christ Community Church will present Co Fest, a festival of food and fun, at 11 a.m. July 20 at Coach D Park. This event is free and open to the public.

Civic Organizations

Eminence Rotary Club meets at noon at Henry Christian Church every Monday.

The New Castle Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Monday at Hometown Pizza.

Pleasureville Masonic Lodge No. 410 meets at 7:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month at Lodge Hall, 105 Main St., Pleasureville.

Pleasureville Economic Development Council meets the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at city hall.

Friends of the Henry County Public Library meets the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. at the library. The Friends supports and assist the library through fundraising and volunteering. For more information, email libraryfrnds@gmail.com.

Clubs & Organizations

Henry County Amateur Radio Emergency Service meetings are the third Saturday of each month at 3 p.m. at the Henry County Public Library, 172 Eminence Terrace, Eminence.

The Second Wind Dreams committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the Extension Office in New Castle. If you are interested in helping the residents of Providence New Castle Healthcare, please join us. Please call (502) 845-0675 for additional information.

Community Events/Community Service

The Campbellsburg Farmers Market will be held Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Campbellsburg Supermarket. Call (502) 532-0070 for more details.

The 2019 Henry County Farmers Market has relocated to outside the Berry Center, 111 S. Main Street in New Castle. Look for our signs. Hours are 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday; 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The Dare to Care Mobile Food Pantry food distribution will be open from 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Henry County Fairgrounds.

Tri-County Community Action COMPASS Substance Abuse Resource Program provides services to parents whose students are potentially using substances. Parents can schedule a screening to help determine services and may receive a take-home drug test with that screening service. Open meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous meeting in the county: 5 p.m. Sunday, Eminence Library; 11 a.m., Monday, New Castle Christian Church; 7 p.m. Tuesday, Eminence Methodist (Help Center); 8 p.m. Wednesday Campbellsburg Methodist Church; 7 p.m. Friday, Eminence Library; and 7 p.m., Saturday, Pleasureville Methodist Church.

Celebrate Recovery meets every Tuesday evening at First Baptist Church, 47 East Cross Main Street, New Castle. Dinner provided by local churches at 6:30 p.m. and worship at 7 p.m. followed by group meetings. Drug court or signature sheets welcome at recovery meetings. Separate groups for women, men, students and co-dependents. A 12-step program is held at First Baptist at 7 p.m. Thursday and at United Methodist Church, 8043 Main Street, Campbellsburg at 7 p.m. Thursday.

A monthly family support group for those affected by addiction meets at 3 p.m. every second Sunday at Second Baptist Church in Campbellsburg. Families, friends and those in recovery are all welcome. You are not alone.

The Henry County Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary meets at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at Eminence Christian Church, 5333 South Main Street in Eminence. A New Direction in

Life, a Christian support group for alcohol/drug or other addictions, will meet from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, at First Baptist Church, Eminence.

Library News

Tinkerer Tuesday, a S.T.E.M. based program designed for elementary school students takes place every Tuesday through July 9 from 1-3 p.m. It is recommended anyone under eight accompanied by an adult.

Little Explorers, designed for ages 2-5 and their caregivers takes place every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. through July 24.

Summer Movies Matinees for all ages are held every Wednesday at 2 p.m. All movies shown are rated PG and snacks are provided by the library.

Friday, July 12 at 10 a.m. infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, and caregivers can join us for Pint Sized Picassos for a painting project, free play, and more.

The annual Summer Learning Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 13 from 1-3 p.m. with special activities for all ages. Our special guest this year will be Idlewild Butterfly Farm with a Live Insect Experience.

The Kentucky Native American Heritage Museum will visit the library on Monday, July 15 at 1 p.m. All ages are welcome.
