Proposed water, sewage increase in New Castle

-A A +A
By Tammy Shaw

Water and sewage may cost slightly more for New Castle residents.

City attorney Josh Clubb presented a proposed ordinance, first reading, at the New Castle city commissioners’ meeting April 6.

The reasons are due to the increased costs of operating the water distribution system and the sewer treatment plant. The cost to the city for testing, chemicals, etc. seem to increase each year, according to City Clerk Lynn Adams

City Attorney Josh Clubb read Ordinance 19-03, which proposes a minimum charge for water and sewage treatment, from $27.92 to $28.46.
