Starvin Marvin gives back

-A A +A
By Cindy DiFazio

Marvin and Julie Whitesides opened Starvin’ Marvin’s Restaurant in Pendleton just last year, but when an EF3 tornado leveled two homes in Eminence last month decided they needed to help.

Marvin Whitesides said Janet Spies and Ronnie Graves, whose home was one of two destroyed by the tornado, are regulars at the cafe. “He comes in sometimes two, three times a day,” he said, “and Janet comes in about three times a week.”

So, one night last week Whitesides cooked up enough fried chicken and fixings to feed up to 150 people.
