  • Henry County High School prom gave students an opportunity to cut loose — and in some cases, cut up - as the end of the year and summer approaches. For the 2018 prom, partipants gathered at the high school for pictures in their fancy suits and flowing gowns before heading to the venue, Passalino’s, at the corner of Second and Market in downtown Louisville.

  • The North Central District Health Department will host an ongoing diabetes prevention class, Prevent T2, at the Henry County Health Department, from May 3 to Aug. 23, beginning at 5:30 p.m., according to a press release.
    The Prevent T2 lifestyle change program can help participants lose weight, become more physically active and reduce stress.
    This is a year-long program with weekly meetings for the first six months, then once or twice a month for the following six months.

  • More than 400 leaders of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association attended the 50-year anniversary state convention April 24 in Louisville, including several from the Henry County Retired Teachers Association, according to a news release.
    The theme was Teamwork: That’s What We Do! Issues covered included legislation, retired teacher advocacy and humor.
    Speakers included Tim Abrams, executive director of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, who discussed “The Importance of KRTA.”
