• Edward Chilton

    Edward L. Chilton, age 95 of Turners Station, died July 30, 2012, at Homestead Nursing Center in New Castle. He was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn Sorrell Chilton.
    He is survived by his two children: Marie Foust, Benton; and Joe A. Chilton, Turners Station.
    Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg. The Reverend Earl Wayne Perry officiated. Interment was in Port Royal Cemetery.

  • Evelyn Rucker

    Evelyn Joyce Rucker, age 73 of New Castle, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at The Richwood in La Grange. She was the daughter of the late Garland and Beatrice (Adler) Rucker.
    She is survived by one brother, Walter Jo Rucker, Pendleton; two sisters: Katherine Rogers, La Grange and Leola Kelley, New Castle.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Bro. Larry Childress, pastor of Point Pleasant Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Defoe Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

  • Howard Adams

    Howard Adams, age 85 of Owenton, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at his residence.
    He was the son of the late Joseph Andrew and Mary Liza Huff Adams.
    He is survived by his wife, Hannah Johnson Adams; four daughters, Mary Elizabeth Cantron of Stamping Ground and Bonnie Marie Glass, Joan Gayle Kincaid and Patsy Ann Marshall, all of Owenton; and a son, William Ray Adams, New Castle.
    Funeral services were Saturday, July 21, at McDonald and New Funeral Homes, with Brother John Thomas and Brother Michael Kincaid officiating. Interment was in Stamping Ground Cemetery.

    Hilda Brown, 85
    Hilda M. Brown, age 85, of Bedford, died Tuesday, July 11, 2012, in La Grange.
    She is survived by two sons, Terry Brown and Dana Brown; and one daughter, Vickie Gaither.
    Graveside services held Friday, July 13 at English Cemetery in English. Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, Carrollton, was in charge of arrangements.

    Sherlean  Bray, 68

    Sherlean (Stivers) Bray, age 68 of Campbellsburg, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at Baptist Hospital Northeast.

    She was the daughter of the late William Sherlie and Lillie Wadean (Clark) Stivers.

    She is survived by her husband, Terry D. Bray, La Grange; four daughters, Carolyn Jewell and Amanda Woosley, both of Campbellsburg, and Carrieanne Cawley and Trish Bray, both of Michigan; two sons, Michael Bright, Union, and James Waddle, La Grange.

  • Howard ‘Red’ White Jr

    Howard ‘Red’ White Jr., 49
    Howard “Red” Minish White Jr., age 49 of Bagdad, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, in Corbin. He was the son of the late Howard Minish White Sr.
    He is survived by two sons, Austin Lee White and Timothy Colton White, both of Shelbyville; and two daughters, Christina Dawn Barnett of Pleasureville and Samantha Ann White of Shelbyville and his mother, Nancy Catherine (Stratton) of Pleasureville.
    A memorial service was held Thursday, July 12, at Pleasureville Baptist Church.

    Terry Glenn “Tug” Hawkins, age 53 of Smithfield, died Monday, July 2, 2012. Terry was a member of the Lake Jericho Volunteer Fire Department and son of the late Roscoe and Margie Hawkins.
    He is survived by two sisters Dena Crawley and Jean Hedges; niece and nephews: Ange Jackon (Dallis), Gini Carter (Rusty), Toni Druin (Chuck), Steve Crawley; great nieces and nephews, Jordan Jackson, Shelby Carter and Kendra and Dallis Jackson Jr.

    Bonnie (Ells) Crawford, age 59 of Simpsonville, died Saturday, June 30, 2012, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Clyde James and Lillie Mae (Blankenship) Ellis.
    She is survived by three sisters: Margaret Harvey, Simpsonville; Mary Jo Logsdon, Louisivlle; Patricia Scamahorn, Bullitt County; and one brother, James Ells, London.
    Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Interment will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will  be from 10 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.

    Bobby J. Dunaway, age 77 of Louisville, died Monday, July 2, 2012.  He was the son of the late Walter and Fannie (Louden) Dunaway. He was a United States Navy Veteran.
    He is survived by one daughter, Glenda Cook, Middletown and one son, Larry Dunaway, Louisville.
    Funeral services will be held  10 a.m.,  Friday, July 6, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Interment will be in New Castle Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m.  Thursday, July 5 at the funeral home.
